My Students

Students in my school are able to apply their developing knowledge of mathematics and science using technology. We use hands-on materials and learning through experiences and challenges.

Over 95 percent qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, but students still respond to our enthusiastic, caring teachers and staff.

Students are expected to work hard and maintain a consistent effort. They are highly motivated and enjoy challenging themselves. They work well in collaboration with their peers and are always creative in their solutions.

My Project

My students have been working with digital media and multiple formats for combining art and technology in STEAM class. They have had the opportunity to work with animation programs, claymation programs, stop motion and video editing. I would like to give them the opportunity to see another side of STEAM and how it can directly connect to the artistic community. In this way, I think we will be able to open doors to students who may not see a connection between their interests and the STEAM community. A sublimation machine will help them to bring a tangible aspect to their art and give them an opportunity to see how the processes can connect Science, Technology and Art. The students will also use their drawings to create costumes for performance based art. The vinyl and Teflon sheets are required for transferring their drawings onto different materials during the sublimation process.
