My Students

I teach in a second grade classroom. My students are so bright, silly, and creative. Every day in my classroom is an adventure and I love spending my days teaching them new things. They love learning and are so inquisitive about the new information they learn. They love technology and hands-on learning. They truly inspire me to be the best teacher I can be!

My Project

Standing desk are something that many businesses are switching to because research has proven that standing helps people focus and be more productive at work. I have the idea to help bring this strategy into the classroom. This standing desk will be used as an incentive for students to work hard and stay focused. I will let students who earn their daily points (our classroom reward system) trade their points in for a chance to sit and work at the Step Up to Learn Desk (standing desk). I have also requested a file cabinet and mini fridge. These two items will be used to store our other classroom rewards that will help motivate my students to earn their daily points. These items include (mini erasers, stickers, soft drinks, fruit (apple slices, oranges, etc). All the items requested will be used so that I can offer better rewards for positive student behavior.
