My Project

My students are the most joyful, intelligent, and creative middle and high schoolers. Every one of my students is beginning their English language journey while adjusting to the culture, food, and school system in the U.S.

Providing snacks in the classroom goes beyond filling their bellies.

It helps establish a safe, welcoming, and nurturing community that all students deserve.

I am lucky to provide a space where my students don't need to ask for or be embarrassed about what they need. Our class kitchen is always stocked and students help themselves with no attention or shame. This is part of the foundation of their learning in our classroom; knowing you have what you need so you can take risks and achieve.
