My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support and resources above basic school supplies. One of the biggest challenges my families face is the ability to provide extra resources and opportunities for their children.
We need to get each student the support needed to be successful in the classroom.
A large percentage of our students live in multi-family member homes and need supports provided in the classroom.
My Project
Students in the classroom have many different needs. Some students need occupational therapy support. With this support, the therapists are able to help students with basic skills in writing and sensory support.
My students need a slant board to help them prop up their work and place their should, arm, and hand in the correct position to write.
By providing these boards, students will learn at a very early level the basic writing position to help them as they move forwards into elementary. These skills are crucial at this early level of learning.
