My students have various special needs, some of those needs require them to take break periods when they feel it is needed. I as a teacher want to provide them with a calming area for those needs. I also want to provide a comfortable area for my children to enjoy quiet, relaxing time reading. My current calm down area does not provide the students with an appealing area to relax and take breaks as needed. I want my students with those special needs to know where the area is and know that is a safe place for them to go to enjoy some rest. My students may not have a comfortable place to enjoy a little quiet time at home, I want to be able to provide that for them here at school. My students will enjoy a new set of bean bags to calm down, relax, or just enjoy a little bit of reading!
