Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school where many students struggle on a daily basis with various challenges at home. Most of the students are ESL, on free or reduced-priced lunch, and their parents often work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. Therefore, school becomes a sanctuary for many of these kids and we as teachers are surrogate parents who teach and love them no matter what.

These are exceptional kids with the odds stacked against them.

There is nothing more fulfilling than to watch them succeed and having the opportunity to cheer them on.

My Project

The main resource I am requesting is an Ipad to assist with both in class and remote learning. The Ipad enables me to utilize a variety of apps that will enhance student learning. In addition, it can be utilized like a drawing pad so my students can clearly see what I am writing during remote learning.

Hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and microfiber cloths to clean our classroom are essential during this uncertain time.

I also requested more whiteboard markers and cleaner to ensure we always have disinfected surfaces. The list goes on and on of the items that we are using more of since the pandemic hit.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
