This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project, Reflect, Refine, Improve: Capturing Teaching for Growth, is designed to improve teaching and learning by creating opportunities for reflection, collaboration, and continuous growth. In my classroom, I strive to create engaging, student-centered experiences where learners are actively building skills through hands-on and meaningful work. However, some of the most powerful opportunities for growth come from stepping back and reflecting on instruction in action.

With the support of a camera and recording accessories, I will be able to capture real classroom lessons and share them with colleagues across the school.

This will allow me to collaboratively analyze instructional practices, celebrate what is working well, and identify areas for improvement. By opening my classroom in this way, I aim to contribute to a culture of shared learning and professional growth that ultimately benefits all students.

Recording lessons will also allow me to reflect more deeply on my own teaching, examining student engagement, questioning strategies, pacing, and differentiation. This process will lead to more intentional instruction and stronger outcomes for students. Additionally, these recordings can be used to model best practices and support other educators who are working to create dynamic, student-centered classrooms.

By supporting this project, this will foster collaboration, improve instructional practices, and ensure that students receive the highest quality learning experiences possible.
