Recently, I was able to provide some of the snacks we received from these donations to a student and family who was struggling with food resources. Students expressed feeling more open in having comfort items, fidget essentials and tangible objects when talking about tough matters and life experiences. Students have been able to use items and win prizes during mental health campaigns. They are highly motivated to participate in school wide events. The next steps for our students is to continue utilizing these donations to help us receive more engagement with students during our important events to promote mental health anti-stigma. Our next project is to have a Kindness campaign during lunch and we will be able to utilize some of the donations, including snacks, fidgets, and squish mellows/squish toys as prizes to ask students to participate in acts of kindness for prizes.
