Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

My students need 4 recycling bins and 1 trash can to implement and maintain a school-wide recycling program and learn valuable job skills.

My Students

Let's clean up our act! This year, my students will be implementing a school-wide sustainability program, but we need to start with the basics including recycling. We need updated recycling receptacles to create recycling centers for each floor. Help us minimize our footprint and go green in NYC!

My students are in 9th and 10th grade and attend a special education high school in New York.

Together we work on academics, activities of daily living, communication skills and vocational skills. This year, the students are learning work skills by creating and maintaining a school-wide waste reduction program. This program will decrease our schools waste production, generate money for our school through recycling, and create organic compost for our school's garden.

My Project

You're donations will help to purchase 4 recycling and 1 trash containers for each floor of the school. Many of our students have difficulty reading, as a result we are interested in acquiring color-coded waste receptacles with shaped lids to make it easier for our students to distinguish between different types of waste.

Your donations are impacting the lives of students by helping them improve their community.

You are also enabling students with disabilities to learn valuable work skills that will improve their quality of life after they graduate.
