My Students

My students come to school each day full of the excitement to learn. They are full of questions and ideas! Most of them are eager to find answers and will keep inquiring all day long! I strive to point them all in the right direction and help them feed their curiosity.

Many of my students struggle to read, but when they find a book about a topic they love, they are so very excited to tell me what they learned!

Once they find a topic that interests them, they are eager to read all the books I have on it. Sometimes I feel like I can never have enough books to quench their thirst for knowledge.

My Project

It is hard to make reading fun when so many of my students feel it is too hard to do! Having fun events and stations makes students want to keep trying. With this project I will turn my classroom into a camp site when the weather is bad. I can remove our desks and take our tents, books and flashlights and spend the day reading in the dark.

These special books have hidden sentences and features that only the flashlight will show.

These books, with the joy of reading in a different setting, can be just the thing to spark the love of reading my students are desperately needing.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
