Help me give my students ink cartridges, storage bins, laminating pouches, and other items, to be able to have more practice with decodable words and a class library organized around phonics skills.

My Project

My first graders are becoming little reading machines! They love to apply their phonics skills and use them to read decodable texts (books that are written to reflect the skills students have been explicitly taught).

Help me organize our class library so that students can "book shop" according to their mastery of phonics skills.

This will help to ensure that students are practicing with books that are the right fit for them. I have red, yellow, green, and blue bins, but want to add orange and purple so that books can be organized into six categories. I will create a "Reading Rainbow" of a class library! The ink, stickers, hook and loop dots, and laminating pouches will allow me to label our books and the book bins for easy access.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
