This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach English to an amazing group of high school students who have been blessed with the opportunity to study in the United States for the first time in their life. These students are filled with excitement and fear; however, they are determined to be successful. Many of these students will be first-generation high school graduates.

A person's desire to become educated should not be hampered by their economic status.

Those who seek an education deserve to be given an opportunity to better themselves. I know that the students in my classroom will become amazing young adults who will have a positive impact on the community. Our adolescents are our future; let's help them build a good one filled with love, respect, and passion to become lifelong learners.

My Project

These books will give my students the opportunity to meet new places and people—an opportunity that they might never experience otherwise. I teacher a very special groups of English Learners that is constantly looking for ways to learn more about the world; however, their limited English sometimes holds them back from socializing with their peers.

As we expand our library, we also expand these students’ knowledge and wisdom.

Students will be able to take these books home and enjoy these characters alongside their families. Help us put book in each home.
