Help me give my students a userfriendly system to borrow and return library books.

My school is a small, college preparatory school with 86% African American students. Students are artists, athletes, scholars, and readers. We win state championships in basketball and football, win history day competitions, and have fabulous arts performances. We have many students taking advanced coursework with big heavy textbooks and many students reading for pleasure on a regular basis.
This school year we have started with all distance learning and we could potentially spend the entire year without getting to enter our building as a school community.
In addition to a global pandemic, the community around our school is in the midst of an unprecedented increase in violence that is directly impacting our students and families. We are heartbroken by the losses our community is suffering.
This is not a time for us to give students less. This is a time for us to dig in and find ways to develop new and creative learning environments. We are doing everything we can to wrap around our students to give them the education and love they deserve.
As a librarian, I am using all my creativity to create systems where students can still borrow and return books during this global pandemic and time of unrest. I have a system for book selection and check out that includes book delivery when necessary, but we have no system for students to return books.
I am requesting funds to purchase a high-quality book return system that will allow me to close the loop creating a long term solution during this pandemic and increased accessibility for students and families after this pandemic.
With this book drop, families can drive by the school and drop textbooks and library books into this bin from the window of their car at any time. The bin keeps the books safe from the elements and a depressible, padded platform keeps them from getting damaged when they are dropped in.
Our students have a love for learning and for reading. With this final piece in place, we can continue to support student's academic goals and their love of reading for pleasure.
