My school is a small, college preparatory schools in an urban setting with 86% African American students. Students at my school are artists, athletes, and scholars. We just won the state championship in football, are sending 7 students to state for the history day competition, and have fabulous dance performances. We also face challenges like extreme poverty, with 87% of students receiving free and reduced lunch and 29% receiving special education services. The school is small enough I can know every student. At my school we work to wrap around our students, giving them the education and preparation they deserve.
