Read It, Dream It, Design It, Build It!

Help me give my students a 3D printer and supplies where they can design, create, and explore new ideas. These resources will help students build creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence as young innovators.

My Project

I am beginning my 24th year teaching in a rural, low socioeconomic, Title I school that is over 100 years old. Every day, my students walk into our library full of curiosity, kindness, and excitement for learning. They are creative thinkers who love to explore, ask questions, and discover new possibilities.

What I love most about my students is their willingness to try.

They may come from different backgrounds and experiences, but they all share a sense of wonder and a desire to create. They are eager to learn through hands-on experiences that allow them to see their ideas become reality.

A 3D printer and STEM supplies will transform our library into a makerspace where students can move beyond simply learning about inventors, engineers, and creators—they can become creators themselves. Students will use these resources to design and print projects connected to books they read, STEM challenges, classroom learning, and their own imagination.

The 3D printer will allow students to practice problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and perseverance as they design, test, and improve their creations. They will learn that mistakes are part of the process and that each challenge is an opportunity to grow.

These resources will give all of our students access to technology and experiences they may not otherwise have. Whether they are printing a design they created themselves or exploring a project that introduces them to engineering concepts, students will leave the library knowing that their ideas matter and that they have the ability to bring those ideas to life.
