My Students

My extraordinary school was ranked in the top 10 of the Most Diverse Schools in all of Duval County. I teach students from all walks of life, a variety of ethnicities, socioeconomic levels, and backgrounds.

Racial representation in education is a very big deal.

Students of color need to be able to see themselves as part of the Gifted program, in advanced courses, graduating from high school, applying to colleges and universities, and in the work force in positions of power. I'm looking to acquire materials that achieve exactly that- racial representation, specifically for students of color.

My Project

Students flourish when they can visualize themselves succeeding. One way this can be achieved is for kids to see others who look like them and/or came from similar situations as them in positions of power and/or finding success themselves!

With your help, I can provide additional reading materials for my students where they will have the opportunity to see other kids, teens, young adults, and celebrities who have found success in today's world.

This will make a huge impact on the third grade students in my classroom! Thank you in advance for your support!
