My Project

What happens when students have the right tools to turn their ideas into words? They become researchers, storytellers, problem-solvers, and confident writers!

I am requesting books, markers, printer cartridges, and other classroom materials to give my students more opportunities to engage in meaningful, hands-on writing experiences.

The books will provide students with a collection of fascinating topics and mysteries to investigate as they develop research-based writing projects. Having engaging nonfiction and mystery-related texts available in our classroom will help students learn to ask questions, gather information, evaluate sources, and turn their discoveries into well-developed writing.

The markers, chart paper, and other supplies will bring our prewriting and revision processes to life. Students will work in collaborative stations where they brainstorm ideas, organize information, analyze evidence, and practice writing strategies together. Color-coding activities will allow students to visually identify important elements of their writing, such as claims, evidence, explanations, organization, and rhetorical strategies. These activities make writing more concrete and give students a chance to physically interact with their ideas before putting them on paper.

Printer cartridges and additional supplies will also allow me to provide students with the texts, graphic organizers, exemplars, and project materials they need without limiting their learning because of a lack of classroom resources.

Most importantly, these materials will create a classroom where writing is more than an assignment—it is a process of questioning, discovering, collaborating, creating, and communicating. My goal is to help students see themselves as capable writers whose ideas are worth developing and sharing.

With your support, my students will have the books, tools, and resources they need to investigate their world and put their ideas into words.
