My Students

Enthusiastic, energetic, empathetic, creative, inclusive, and motivated are a few words that come to mind when thinking about the learners in my class. As an intervention teacher, I am given the opportunity to work with different students in a range of grades. I feel incredibly grateful to be able to interact with students who are curious, passionate, and so thoughtful. These students desire to succeed, and I consider it a gift that I am allowed to coach them and provide new pathways to success.

My Project

With our return to in-person instruction after a lengthy absence due to COVID-19, I feel that it is so important to be even more creative with my lesson planning due to new CDC restrictions. Money is a really important concept that children need to understand in order to be successful in life. This is why I always make sure that my children understand the meaning of financial literacy and how it impacts their life.

For my unit on money, I have gathered a plethora of activities to engage my children in this important unit.

With the projector, I can project a lesson like Vault from EVER-Fi. Vault - Understanding Money is a digital financial education resource that addresses both financial concepts and social-emotional learning skills that build toward better financial health. Vault focuses on critical life skills like budgeting, career planning, and healthy borrowing habits. It leverages interactive and digital game-based learning and immerses students in real-life financial scenarios that focus on skill building and responsible decision making.

The projector will be used to display these differentiated activities with money to build their understanding of this important concept. Without this projector I will be unable to display the interactive financial literacy videos and games.
