Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) school. We purposely teach and model expected behavior throughout the school and reward those students who demonstrate appropriate behavior.

All students pledge every morning; “I will, honor diversity.

Operate with integrity. Respect myself and others. Nurture self-discipline. Ensure safety. Take responsibility. Strive for success." Since its inception in 1995, Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) has decreased office discipline referrals, increased academic scores and attendance, and increased overall satisfaction in schools across our country.

Students at the school collect “stingers” for being “caught” exhibiting appropriate behavior and can use these “stingers” to purchase the requested items at our school store: notebooks, pencils, book covers, erasers, markers, candy, bouncy balls, stickers, gift cards, bowling passes, individual chip bags, food passes, etc.
