As I unpacked the Molecular Model Kits and Snap Circuits, they immediately began guessing what we would build first. One student said, \"Wait—we actually get to use these?\" That moment alone reminded me why hands-on resources matter so much. My students are naturally curious, and having real tools in their hands validated that their learning is active, important, and real.\r\n\r\nWe are already using the Molecular Model Kits during our chemistry unit to build atoms, simple molecules, and eventually more complex compounds. Instead of only drawing Lewis structures on paper, students physically construct molecules and rotate them to understand bonding and structure. I watched one group rebuild a molecule three times after realizing their bond angles were incorrect—without frustration, just determination. During our electricity unit, the Snap Circuits have transformed our classroom into a buzzing lab of innovation. Students are designing working circuits, testing different configurations, and troubleshooting when something doesn't light up. The addition of stopwatches, digital scales, batteries, circuit tape, and LED diodes has allowed them to collect real data and refine their designs like true engineers.\r\n\r\nNext, students will be combining these skills into a design challenge where they must create a functional prototype that demonstrates both chemical understanding and electrical energy transfer. They will plan, build, test, revise, and present their designs, explaining the science behind their choices. Because of your generosity, I am able to move beyond simply teaching concepts to creating an inquiry-rich environment where students experiment, collaborate, and experience those powerful \"aha!\" moments. You have helped turn curiosity into discovery, and my students are growing more confident as scientists and problem-solvers every day.","fullyFundedDate":1765564211507,"projectUrl":"project/think-like-a-scientist-build-like-an-en/9609218/","projectTitle":"Think Like a Scientist, Build Like an Engineer","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10181609_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755321712775","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10181609"},{"teacherId":10181609,"projectId":9643392,"letterContent":"Thank you for investing in my students and in their love of learning. My classroom is filled with bright, curious learners who come in each day eager to ask questions and make sense of the world around them. Reading in our science class is active and purposeful—students annotate articles, highlight unfamiliar vocabulary, discuss big ideas in small groups, and connect what they read to labs, data, and real-world events. The new Science World magazines have transformed our reading time into moments of discovery. Students are not just reading—they are analyzing charts and graphs, identifying claims and evidence, building academic vocabulary, and learning how scientific ideas apply beyond our classroom walls.\r\n\r\nThe vocabulary resources you provided have made an immediate impact. The Science Vocabulary Bulletin Board gives students a visual anchor for key terms, and I often see them physically turn and reference the wall during discussions. The Quick Starts allow us to practice using new terms daily in writing and conversation, which has strengthened both confidence and precision in their language. The Delta Science Dictionary has empowered students to work more independently—rather than waiting for me, they look up unfamiliar words and take ownership of their understanding.\r\n\r\nSome of my quieter students, who previously hesitated to participate, are now raising their hands because they feel equipped with the right language to explain their thinking. One student who once struggled with reading complex texts recently shared how much she enjoys the real-world articles because they \"feel important.\" Watching students connect vocabulary to experiments, debates, and current events has been incredibly rewarding. Your generosity has not only strengthened their science skills, but also their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and confidence. You are helping shape stronger readers, problem-solvers, and future scientists—and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758219117540,"projectUrl":"project/unlocking-the-language-of-science/9643392/","projectTitle":"Unlocking the Language of Science","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10181609_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755321712775","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10181609"},{"teacherId":9791354,"projectId":8856021,"letterContent":"Dear Donors,\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous donation to our school. The new resources have already made a tremendous impact in our classroom. My students have been using the materials daily during small-group instruction and hands-on learning centers. One of the first projects we completed was a collaborative activity where students worked together using the new supplies to build models, complete reading tasks, and engage in interactive learning stations. Seeing them explore, problem-solve, and support one another with these materials has truly elevated their learning experience.\r\n\r\nThe excitement on their faces when they first saw the items is something I will never forget. Many of them immediately asked, \"Are these really for us?\" and jumped right in, eager to touch, read, and use everything. Your generosity made them feel valued, supported, and seen—something every child deserves.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to play a key role in our ongoing lessons and upcoming projects. We are currently beginning a new unit where students will rotate through literacy, math, and enrichment centers using the tools you helped provide. Thanks to you, my students now have what they need to learn more effectively, stay engaged, and develop stronger academic skills. Your donation has created opportunities that will benefit them throughout the entire school year, and we are truly grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and helping our students shine.","fullyFundedDate":1736786278605,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-homeless-students-providing/8856021/","projectTitle":"Supporting Homeless Students: Providing","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stanton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9791354_orig.png?crop=184,184,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727976183165","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9791354"},{"teacherId":10003698,"projectId":9446794,"letterContent":"I cannot express how grateful my students and I are for these supplies!
