My Students

My school is a Title I school, meaning that a majority of the students are on free or reduced lunch. Many of them come from traumatic and stressful home situations and have school as their safe place. At our school, we try to not just be their teachers, but also the role models that they may or may not have at home.

Despite the challenges these students face in their personal lives, they still come to school hopeful.

They look to the teachers and classmates as members of their families, and we are proud to work through the struggles each day as we support one another.

My Project

Students have many jobs during the school day and one of those jobs is to make good behavior choices. We like to reward those good choices by giving the students Eagle Bucks, which they then use to purchase items from the Eagle Store.

After interviewing a class, I came to the conclusion that the kids LOVE pop its!

I wanted to include lots of pop its items in the Store so that students would want to work even harder to make those good choices and earn the awesome items that they love!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
