Students need engaging lessons and ways to practice the skills learned from those lessons. The times of the teacher standing in front of a group of kids sitting at desks with textbooks in front are not so common anymore. Kids need to be engaged. The centers on my list allow students to be engaged while also checking their own learning. They can practice skills in literacy and math using the Versatiles on their own or with a partner. Then check their work to see if they are correct. Using the Versatiles, students will have more independence while also practicing necessary skills.
