This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This may come as a shock to some of you, but did you know that students like to argue? Debating enhances critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to construct well-reasoned arguments. Students develop a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives, fostering empathy and open-mindedness. It cultivates research proficiency and information synthesis, honing analytical skills crucial for academic and professional success. Debaters gain confidence, resilience, and the capacity to articulate thoughts persuasively. The competitive nature of debates instills discipline and teamwork, promoting a robust work ethic. Ultimately, debating equips students with the intellectual tools needed to navigate complex issues, fostering a lifelong commitment to informed dialogue and civic engagement. Debating is also a great way to liven up a classroom. Two new podiums will help my students in their debating skills.
