Phonics is a Basic Need to Read!

Help me give my students a chance to further their phonics needs with writing and letter tiles. To do small groups and not have to worry about markers.

My Students

I work in a first grade classroom in a Title I school. We have a very diverse school. My kids need a lot of one on one attention and guidance. They still love school and love you as their teacher. They like structure and routines. I love working with my students and being such a key to help them become readers and learn the basics to be able to read. I feel this is an age where you get to see lots of progress in the students and see those light bulbs click.

My Project

I work in a first grade classroom so I will be using the writing boards when we are doing our Reading Horizons phonics program. It will also be very helpful to not have to worry about markers and them writing on themselves or the marker drying out. They will be able to quickly grab their board and be ready to go. I will also be using the tiles up on my white board with phonics as we learn to tap and blend words out. I can easily manipulate them and they can tell the difference between vowels and consonants. I think these will really help me in my small groups as well being able to have them write so I can see the sounds that they are hearing.
