Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Speech Language Pathologist in an inner city, high-need community. Our district is large with over thirty-five schools and our needs are great. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
I currently provide language support services to forty students with augmentative communication and assistive technology needs.
These students benefit from visual supports and adapted equipment when communicating and learning.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of learning materials for my students. First, the HP printer ink and Quill Brand cardstock will be used to make communication boards and supplementary visuals for lessons for my students. Most of my students use visual supports when learning and communicating and we print materials almost daily. The cardstock is important because the materials are more durable and last longer. Lysol wipes will keep learning surfaces and our materials clean and germ-free! The Duracell batteries are for the communication devices and the toys we use during interactive language lessons.
This school year will be a great year of learning for us with these new materials!
