I am a Speech Language Pathologist working in a large urban district in Connecticut. I provide direct therapy and language support services to students with augmentative communication systems. My students range from PK to high school and are in several different classes throughout the district. My students have significant language deficits and use pictures throughout their day. Some of my students are verbal and communicate with words but require pictures to enhance their understanding and support their learning. Most of my students use pictures and symbols paired with speech generating devices to communicate their wants and needs.
