Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the absolute most amazing students that I have ever taught. Our Title I school is located in a rural, lower-income area of Florida. Over 90% of our school receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast and the majority of our students are ELL (English Language Learners).

These 2nd language learners embody the meaning of hard work and sacrifice and come to school every day prepared.

The majority are ESOL students learning in their 2nd language, three of which just moved to the country. My class also includes ESE students (exceptional student education) who struggle with learning differences in their 2nd language and do so with a smile.

My Project

Flexible seating is one way to allow students to feel safe enough to take chances in their learning while motivating them at the same time. Some of my students have ADHD and other learning differences which hinder their ability to sit and focus. These wobble cushions are discreet enough where they don't draw any unwanted attention but allow my students to stay engaged.

With flexible seating, I know that these students will be able to produce work to their potential.
