Mouthpieces for Trombones

Help me give my students a larger mouthpiece to perform on as they develop. The first upgrade that any brass player should make is to get a larger mouthpiece so they can use more air as they play.

My Students

The students at my school are wonderfully hard workers. Despite being young, they are incredibly receptive to feedback and willing to work hard. Their positivity and joy make teaching them a joy and delight. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with them every day.

My Project

Beginner instruments come with beginner mouthpieces. These are often smaller mouthpieces that are easier to start on, but can be limiting as students begin to develop. The first upgrade to an instrument that a student should make is to get a larger mouthpiece.

A larger mouthpiece provides less resistance for more open sound as students start to use more air.

For any wind instrument more air with less resistance provides a better sound.

By offering school owned mouthpieces students can save the money they would spend on a new mouthpiece for when they upgrade their horn.
