My school is located in a highly diverse community on the west side of Los Angeles, CA. More than 50% of students are from socioeconomically disadvantaged families. Sixteen percent of my students are English Learners. Eighty percent of my students are in the Magnet Program. My classes are pretty diverse. Students are from different backgrounds. Their math achievement ranges from below basic to highly proficient.
My students are responsible, positive and eager to learn.
Most of them strive for excellence. They always ask me "What can I do to improve my performance?" "Are there any extra work or practice I can do?" To help students to reach their full potential, I always seek supplementary materials that allow me to enhance my teaching approaches and strategies.
My Project
Many students are struggling with mathematical reasoning. Although some of my students are high ability in my magnet math classes, they are proficient in applying math computation skills, but sometimes weak in reasoning and solving problems using different methods and approaches.

The Performance Coach provides examples explaining the core concepts in depth; and lesson practices that allow students to develop their mathematical reasoning and critical thinking skills. It also provides students opportunities to further deepen their understanding and learning of math concepts. The other books offer a variety type of problems which allow students to practice their problem-solving skills and become proficient in mathematics.
