I teach at a school located in a highly diverse community. More than 50% of the students are from economically disadvantaged communities and my students' achievement levels range from advanced to far below basic. I teach four Common Core 8th grade math classes (Magnet) and one EL class. my students ranging in age from 13 to 15 years old. I have total 123 students. Majority are Hispanic and Black, 14% Asian, 14% White and 4% others. Some of my students are predominately visual learners. Some of them are predominately tactile learners. Some are combination of different learning styles. Most of them are courteous, positive, and polite. My students love to use colored papers for their notebooks and projects. They enjoy taking notes with foldables. They enjoy being in a classroom that is colorful, positive and full of energy - filled with their creative assignment and projects. They also enjoy using technologies.
