My Project

I’m very fortunate to work with an exceptionally talented, motivated group of Visual Arts students. My students have chosen to pursue their artistic dreams through studying at our prestigious public Arts high school in Manhattan, taking 3-4 periods of art a day. I teach Advanced Painting, a double period studio class for juniors and seniors, as well as, Introduction to Painting to sophomores. These are a committed and passionate group of young artists.

My students make BEAUTIFUL PAINTINGS that begin with a rough draft.

Unfortunately, our markers are almost all dried up. With a new set of markers, the students could make rough drafts for their paintings.

Additionally, we are so lucky to have a great parents association that orders a good deal of our art supplies; however, there are a lot of little things that fall through the cracks. Every year I spend personal money on paper towels, cleaning supplies, office supplies and all of the weird little things like "vegetable oil" to clean our oil painting brushes.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
