Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from predominantly low-income households. Many have grown up in Rosamond, CA, and have never ventured too far from the immediate vicinity. Due to the poverty in our community, all students in our district receive free lunch and breakfast. My students come from families that see education as a way to break out of poverty.

My students are great problem solvers and learn how to make do with less.

Most of my students want to go to college and become people who make something of themselves. They want to make their families proud, especially when they are the first in their family to go to college.

My Project

Access to high quality literature is a necessary thing for a classroom. But books become expensive, and a classroom library depends on how much a teacher can find access to. With this donation, our classroom library will get a necessary boost and over 50 high quality books would be added to our small library. By donating to this project, you are giving 55 students access to books they might not have access to other wise, and books that are exciting, on topic and intriguing to the students. Any amount helps us reach our goal of increasing our class library
