Literacy and Math Games

Help me give my students literacy and math games. In kindergarten, I try to install the love of learning through games rather than worksheets. My students love learning basic foundational skills through games.

My Students

Our kindergarten classes are full of energy and so excited to learn. They are highly motivated and eager to learn. I am a huge advocate for instilling the love of literature at a young age and using mentor texts to help guide their learning. I feel it is imperative to engage students in literature at their instructional level.

Students in our classes thrive on structure and routine and are in the process of learning the rules and routines expected.

My Project

I truly believe it is critical to provide my students with opportunities to learn foundational skills through games rather than worksheets. I believe that allowing/ encouraging students to become independent learners is critical in their overall development. These games will allow them to problem solve and to further deep in their understanding. These games will also encourage my students to take accountability for their own learning. I will also be providing parents with the opportunity to play these games based on student needs throughout the week. They can take these home to play with your parents at home.
