Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarteners have grown so much in math, science and literacy through multi-sensory experiences. Daily they hunt for sight words in the sensory bin, shape numbers and letters with play-doh, stretch words with Slinkies, count with Pop-its or spell sight words in shaving cream. Recently I purchased a light tray to tap into my student's sense of sight and offer them multiple opportunities to explore and learn across the curriculum.

Light tables can be used for open play, academic learning, scientific discovery, and sensory integration.

Literacy, music, writing, math and science are all skills that can be learned and developed using a light table! I would like hands-on, translucent materials to engage student exploration with our new light tray.
