Because of your generosity, I was able to provide my students with a sensory bubble tube, a squeeze chair, and emotions mirrors. I first introduced the sensory bubble tube, it was amazing to see the students' excitement about the fish and the bubbles in the tube. The squeeze chair has been an excellent addition to my circle time by helping the students feel more secure. The emotions mirrors have helped me do a daily check in with students to see how they are feeling each day. \r\n\r\nEach item serves a unique role in supporting student development. The bubble tube acts as a powerful visual anchor, using soft light and rhythmic movement to de-escalate anxiety and capture the attention of students with sensory processing needs. The squeeze chair provides essential deep-pressure input, offering a physical \"hug\" that helps ground students who struggle with body awareness or hyperactivity. Meanwhile, the emotion mirrors have become a cornerstone for social-emotional learning, allowing students to visually connect their internal feelings with outward expressions.\r\nThe introduction of the bubble tube, squeeze chair, and emotion mirrors has fundamentally transformed the classroom into a more inclusive and regulated learning environment. Because of your support my classroom is more of a sensory sanctuary and a social emotional learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1764723023382,"projectUrl":"project/calming-corner-creating-a-sensory-safe/9872012/","projectTitle":"Calming Corner: Creating a Sensory Safe Space","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9170157_orig.jpg?crop=2486,2486,x135,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762205746629","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9170157"},{"teacherId":2629753,"projectId":9004470,"letterContent":"We held our first family night in April with an Ozobot station and are scheduled to have another in October. April was a huge success with our limited supply of Ozobots, and we anticipate that October will be even better with the addition of 12 Ozobots from your donations. \r\n\r\nYour generous donations have already generated amazing results! Last school year, we had STEM days on Thurday and Friday each week. We were able to bring every class to the STEM Lab to engage in activities. It was tough to do since we did not have enough Ozobots for students to be 1:1 with the robot. However, we managed and learned how valuable STEM is to our school community. This year, we have already begun STEM lessons. Wow, what a difference with 1:1 Ozobot Robots that all work! \r\n\r\nYou are making a difference in the lives of our children and providing opportunities for them to be successful in the world they will inherit in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1743011273332,"projectUrl":"project/coding-with-the-mighty-ozobot/9004470/","projectTitle":"Coding With the Mighty Ozobot","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pickard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2629753_orig.jpg?crop=4000,4000,x1000,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1602768726762","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/yac"},{"teacherId":2629753,"projectId":9309488,"letterContent":"Giving students the opportunities to experience STEM activities is a huge challenge. Funding, time, and resources remain huge obstacles. Yet, students have an absolute love for hands-on, problem solving, and collaborative STEM projects, activities, and events. Furthermore, they need STEM as part of their education to compete in the world.\r\n Your generous donation made it possible to continue bringing STEM opportunities to all the students at our school by giving us additional resources to keep our STEM Lab motivating, engaging, and up to date. \r\n Imagine learning about the job of Smoke Jumpers in social studies. Sure, it is an exciting topic and interesting to read about. However, not all students are readers in 2nd grade, and reading to learn is still a challenge for many of my students. Now, imagine getting in a group to become an expert on one page of the topic to prepare to teach their classmates with the help of a robot. Every single student was engaged in the activity! You made that possible, and we are looking forward to many more learning opportunities with our robots. Robots are a great way to teach all subjects while incorporating STEM.","fullyFundedDate":1748631953838,"projectUrl":"project/lightning-bolt-fun/9309488/","projectTitle":"Lightning Bolt Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pickard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2629753_orig.jpg?crop=4000,4000,x1000,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1602768726762","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/yac"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_25091","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":418,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":82,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"22.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":87.5,"schoolId":25091,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Badillo Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Badillo Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/charter-oak-unified-school-district/badillo-elementary-school/25091"}
