Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having a microphone in their hand allows students to take charge of their voice and use their own words to express their thoughts. During writing and sharing, students are very excited to share their writing because they love to hold and speak to a microphone. Currently, my second graders are rehearsing to present skits during a school assembly to teach other students skills that build character. The microphones are very motivational to recruit more participants for this assembly. In addition, students are more motivated to share a book that they've read or are reading. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice. They almost always are encouraged and motivated to express themselves, are more engaged, and are more enthusiastic to share with a microphone than without.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and more enthusiastic when they are given a choice to make their voices heard.

The products that I have selected will help give my students additional purpose to make their words, thoughts, and voices heard. The microphones are magical and will allow students to speak, eliminate hesitancy, and most of all let them hear their own voices. These opportunities will be extremely beneficial for almost all students who just need to get over their self-consciousness. They are also important to build their public speaking skills. These skills are crucial for students to have in order to take advantage of many future job opportunities. I hope you support our classroom project.
