Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, enthusiastic, and often quirky. They comprehend material advanced for their grade level, as well as show emotional depth and sensitivity beyond expectations for their age. They enjoy solving challenging problems in all academic areas and have the need to express themselves through a variety of mediums.

My Project

As part of our Hands On Her and His stories, we are exploring the life and genius of Leonardo da Vinci.

Creating a da Vinci studio will provide students opportunities to explore their own genius as they engage in activities that strengthen their curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

A globe and map provides students with a sense of place; art supplies allow my students to express themselves beyond just written forms; the easels serve to display artworks; and the office supplies facilitate organizing projects.

My students will study Leonardo da Vinci's ideas, art, and inventions and then showcase their own genius.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
