Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of students who all come together to learn something new each day. I find having different cultures in a classroom enhances one's ability to see everyone as an individual, that everyone has something to offer.

I strive to engage students in each lesson, knowing the more positive of a lesson, the more likely students will take away a sense of accomplishment.

Our school is seventy percent low-income, and many times there is no extra money available for students to purchase their own supplies. If I see a need for supplies, I will not hesitate to purchase what is needed. Everyone needs someone to believe in them, and my classes know I am that someone!

My Project

I am helping to stock our store with prizes that will reward students for good behavior. Our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) committee, runs a store where students can cash in their earned points for prizes.

Students earn points every day by being on time to class, positive behavior, being kind to others, getting their work done on time, etc.

Our students are hard workers and do the best they can in these trying times. Even if the reward is small, they can be proud of themselves knowing they earned it on their own!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
