My Students

Our students are some of the most resilient I have ever met. Our student population is at some of the lowest socioeconomic levels in Atlanta. Essential items such as food are not always readily available. There are extensive traumatic situations that have been experienced.

Despite all of these huge challenges, we have a lively student culture.

Any help that is received is much needed. As our students will be returning to the classroom after almost two years away. We know that academic gaps will exist and we need your help.

My Project

Writing and Reading are fundamental. In Pre-K we constantly work on letter formation and phonological awareness which is letter sounds. These resources will give our students access to sight words to copy and many different writing utensils to help complete the process. Our students are passionate learners and are team players. The effect of the pandemic is that it has severely strained our resources. We have sent supplies home multiple times for the students. These supplies will be vital to the implementation of our high-quality curriculum for the remainder of the year
