My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income school. My students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, my students crave creative and meaningful learning experiences that will help them thrive during their school year. I am responsible for teaching math and science to two groups of students.

My homeroom class consists of a mix of general education with English Language Learners.

My students who are English Language Learners consist from entering to proficient. My second class is a general education class. Each classroom consists of twenty-six students that I will be providing instruction to in both content areas of math and science this school year. Differentiating and small group instruction occurs on a daily basis to support all students. Many of my students do not have support at home with their academics; therefore, it is important that our classroom has the right supports for a successful school year. We would love for our classroom to support all the educational needs of each student.

My Project

Healthy snacks are a great way to ensure that each individual student is able to focus and learn. Often several of my students come to school without eating breakfast which makes it difficult to concentrate and get thru the morning. Having a snack handy to give my students who come in hungry is great but having healthy snacks for them is so much better. It is important for students to have energy in order to be able to focus and be successful with their academics. Let’s help keep my students healthy.
