Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to learn new things, they are eager to explore and appreciate the little things in life. Ninety-nine percent of my students qualify for free lunch, about 85% of them come from a single-parent home and are not able to always provide extra items for my students. My students come from different regions like the Caribbean, Vietnam, Africa, and Arabia.

One of the many things that I love about my students is their willingness to try new things!

A lot of my girls are not able to take advantage of having formal training in many different extracurricular activities due to the lack of funds from their families.

I want all my students (girls and boys) to know that if they work hard and stay on the right path, they can accomplish great things in life. Nothing makes me happier than when I see a group of students smile when they master a task which they thought was impossible.

My Project

My students are adjusting to getting back in shape. I have tried to come up with different ways to get them moving even when we are not all together.

10,000 steps a day is one goal that I have given to all my student athletes.

They usually track their steps based on my step count, I know it will be a lot easier if they have their own activity tracker to track their steps even when we are not together. The hard work that we are putting in now will hopefully translate into healthier lives.
