Headphones and Seating for All!

Help me give my students new headphones with a microphone that will both work and last and help give my students more flexible seating options to help improve focus and engagement in the classroom.

My Students

My 2nd graders are such amazing, curious, and energetic kids. They love to explore and learn new things. In my classroom, I try my best to engage my students in learning using a variety of techniques. One way I love to engage my students is through technology. We are fortunate to have access to Chromebooks to use throughout the day and have a 1-1 ratio.

Technology is integrated throughout the day and serves as both a resource and an extension to learning.

Our school provides access to several learning programs that engage students technology is different ways. This provides students a great opportunity to learn to be smart and responsible with technology.

My Project

Integrating technology has always been important in my classroom, but with all the changes since COVID-19, technology has become a vital part of my students learning. Having workable headphones with allow them to complete assignments on their Chromebooks accurately and will help them not get distracted by other noises. Headphones with a microphone will also allow my class to use a variety of ways to respond to assignments, including making videos or audio recordings.

The flexible seating in this project will provide my classroom with the flexible seating needed for have enough options for everyone.

This year I have noticed that several of my students struggle with staying focused when sitting with a normal chair at their desk. The wobble stools and cushions will provide more options for these students and help these students be better engaged in their learning. My students love the flexible seating we currently have and will be so excited to more options as well as enough seating for everyone.

The pencil sharpener funded in this project will replace the constantly breaking ones in our classroom. A working sharpener will allow students to be more prepared for learning. Our current pencil sharpeners are often a cause of frustration to students, so having a working well will not only help them be prepared but will also allow them to be more independent.
