My Students

I would love to tell you about my students. Some live in apartments, some live in houses and some live in shelters; some speak English and some are learning English; some of them have an easy time learning and some of them learn in a non-traditional way.

My students are unique individuals and yet typical kids.

Every day they are experimenting, exploring, and creating from a place of wonder. They love books and they love being read to. They love to draw and sing songs. They like LEGO sets and blocks and soccer and hula hoops. They do brave things every single day and they are all smart and gifted in their own way.

We spend 10 hours a day together and that means we have a thousand daily moments to learn social skills, how to manage our emotions, how to listen to our bodies, and how to stretch our minds. We are a school family and every day we say, "We are smart! We are powerful! We will change the world!" Will you help us do that?

My Project

We have not been able to go on field trips for two years. We have isolated classes, we have to sit apart, we have worn masks, and followed all the rules.

We want to give the kids a party with no germs invited!

February 14 is Clifford the Big Red Dog's birthday. We want to read his books, wear red puppy ears, and the whole school will dress in red.

Each class will have a Clifford storytime and dance party and they will make their own set of Clifford's ears. At the end of the day, they will get a puppy bracelet. For one day, we are going to act like puppies. Happy puppies. Masked puppies. Good puppies.
