This year, all the students in our school will have the opportunity to participate in a STEAM class for the first time! (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). I am lucky enough to work with all students in the building. They will come to our Innovation Lab and work on integrated projects.
My students are bright, motivated, and excited to learn each day.
No matter their circumstances at home, they show up ready to learn and engage. They are go-getters and collaborate well with each other. I am excited to help more students find a passion through STEAM.
My Project
The seeds of physics are planted in our elementary science core. These materials will bring a hands-on aspect to the curriculum. Students will be able to build vehicles that actually move. They can study the transfer of energy from one object to another and also the change from potential to kinetic energy. These are the projects that brings everything to live.
Bee-Bots will give even our youngest engineers experience with coding and algorithms.
The simple design allows even pre-readers to think through the sequences of programming. Our students collaborate together as they solve problems and challenges. It sets the foundation for many future years of computer science.
