Flexible Seating During the Pandemic

Help me give my students flexible seating options. Wiggle chairs and cushions allow students to move in appropriate ways while doing work. The storage bench will provide students with a comfortable place to read.

My Students

My kindergarteners are curious, active, and eager to learn and share. For a majority of my students, kindergarten is their very first experience in a school setting. Organizations like DonorsChoose.org are a unique way for us to seek the funding we need to make the most of this experience! My goal is to create a safe and positive environment for them that fosters a love of learning. Being their first experience in a school setting, I feel that the positive impact I will make will encourage them to become life-long learners.

My Project

Flexible seating options allow students to take charge of their learning and to choose what works best for them. During this pandemic, we don't always know what the school year will bring. It is important for students to feel safe and comfortable at school so that they will be ready to learn. Each of the seating options can be easily sanitized to minimize the spread of germs. Flexible seating allows small movements to help students get wiggles out without disrupting learning. This can be especially important for students who are feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
