This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I was recently recertified in CPR and First Aid as part of my ongoing licensure requirements. As I was engaging in the class, I realized just how far away help can be and how important immediate first aid supplies can be for students' safety.

Our campus is large and sometimes help is several minutes away, but a kit like this one can potentially save the life of a student in my classroom or a neighboring classroom during an emergency.

My hope is to fill the backpack with items that can be grabbed and taken immediately to the scene of a nearby emergency so that first aid can be provided while waiting for the school nurse or emergency services to arrive. Having these supplies at hand instead of across campus can make a crucial difference in an emergency situation.
