Extra Workspace and Storage for Engineering

Help me give my students an extra workspace. My senior engineering classes are working on capstone projects which have become large, intricate projects. They need some extra space to work and to store small parts.

My Project

I have fully embraced the project-based learning strategy in my engineering classes. We regularly complete projects at all levels from freshman robotics, through sophomore simple machines, gears, and renewable energy projects, to senior capstone projects. When students are working in small groups of 3 or 4, I might have over 30 projects in various stages of completion between my 6 classes. It's quite a bit to manage.

Even when students aren't in class, those projects need a place to sit safely, especially for my senior capstone project class where groups are working on a single, complex project for the entire year.

This year has been challenging (in a good way) with my senior students setting their sights on bigger and more interesting projects. If I could offer just a little more workspace and storage room it would make those projects easier to manage and let me focus more on facilitating these projects through to completion and focus less on moving projects from one space to another.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
