Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how creative, curious, and thoughtful my students are when they are given opportunities to make connections between history, literature, and their own lives.

These supplies will help transform important American time periods into engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

Dream catcher supplies will help students explore Native American history and cultural traditions while creating something personal. Stained glass supplies will help students better understand the colonies by exploring their art, culture, and traditions in a creative way. Cardstock will allow students to design their own covers for short stories inspired by the Industrial Revolution, giving them a chance to visually represent the themes, settings, and ideas they encounter in their writing. Masks will help students explore Shakespeare’s lasting impact on American traditions and literature while encouraging them to examine characters, themes, and theatrical expression. Crowns will provide additional opportunities for students to connect historical concepts with creative expression. Together, these resources will help my students see that history and literature are not just subjects to read about—they are stories they can experience, create, and bring to life.
