My Project

My 8th-grade math students are creative, innovative, and full of ideas. At our MedTech middle school, they thrive on hands-on learning, design challenges, and any opportunity to connect math to real life. Many of my students come from under-resourced communities, but when you give them something to build, design, or create, they rise to the occasion every time. They do not lack ability. They just need the right tools.

I am requesting an xTool S1 Laser Cutter and Engraver to transform our classroom into a hands-on maker space where math, creativity, and technology come together.

With this tool, my students will be able to:

Cut and engrave precise geometric shapes

Create scaled prototypes for PBL projects

Design and build 2D and 3D math models

Produce visual displays and learning tools

Bring real-world math concepts to life through creation

The xTool S1 will allow my students to take what they learn on paper and turn it into something real. They will be able to hold it, test it, and take pride in their work.
