My Students
My classroom is full of students who are emergent bilingual learners. All of my students are learning English. My emergent bilingual learners are either recent arrivals or brand new to the country. My students bring a wide variety of cultures, languages and experiences to the classroom in order to create a diverse learning environment.
In addition to learning English, my students are expected to expand their knowledge in order to reach the second grade Common Core curriculum state standards.
My school is a small, inclusive, public school that is part of a large urban district where over seventy-five percent received free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
Dry erase boards are amazing resources in an elementary classroom. They immediately engage students with the excitement of using dry erase markers and being able to show their work with endless space. It is also a very green way to have students work through their thinking. However, dry erase clipboards are even better!
These clipboards would service the ENTIRE 2nd grade at our school!
There are so many academic uses for these dry erase clipboards such as solving math problems, mental math, quick responses to questions, anonymous responses, and more! Even more, the clipboard aspect allows students to do their work anywhere in the classroom and to access flexible seating easily! Students can do their work on the dry erase board or do a worksheet on the clipboard!
